Utility 2-1 was designed for use with Engine 2-1 to carry its manpower; once tailboard riding was abolished.  It is also used for transporting hose and tools from emergency scenes.  Beyond emergency use, it does other station errands and is taken all over Pennsylvania to fire training schools.   The Utility also has 3 large storage boxes that can be placed in the bed for additional equipment (HazMat, Brush Fire, Wet/Dry Absorbent).
